TAKOMA PARK, MARYLAND

A Takoma Park family came looking to add character to their very ordinary red brick rambler and also wanted to expand out the back in order to create a great room and improve their connection to the back yard and fish pond. The joyous new space that was created opens out to a large rear porch with monumental stairs that overlook their yard and garden. Arts & Crafts inspired details include the windows and doors, flat interior casing, half-round gutters, and new front entry. The new front and screen porches and family room addition helped transform this house into a handsome Bungalow.
