Butterfly Master Suite

The owners of a split level home in Carderock Springs asked Wilets Architecture to design a new master bedroom suite as well as re-configure the interior main floor space to be an open plan that works better for their entertaining lifestyle. A modern approach was taken to connect to and expand the existing brick garage with an uplifting butterfly roof to bring in light and views of the surrounding site. New front and rear sitting terraces are designed to strengthen the connection to nature, and a sky-lit flat roofed carport provides unenclosed shelter for their cars and storage.
